When I started my furniture making career as a student at Rycotewood College, I had the sole purpose of wanting to learn to make furniture to a high standard. The training was rigorous, and challenging at times, but slowly I learnt to mark out precisely, and cut accurately to a line. To hone my tools to a razor edge, and to work methodically and carefully to a successful conclusion. I was always however, glad to see the finished pieces leave the workshop.

Commissioned at Made London in 2017, for a house in Regents Park.

The customer saw the original “Scritti” desk at the Devon Guild Summer Show in 2017, and wanted something similar, but narrower for his hallway.

A commission for a couple who saw my work at a Christmas show, and bought it as a joint golden wedding present for each other.

This was a lovely commission for a couple who had seen and fallen in love with my Scritti desk at Made London in October 2016.

The cleaving and shaping of components took place in the Rotherfold Square over the summer holidays of 2015, with assembly taking place in my workshop.  The bench was then disassembled and installation took place in the square in November.

A five-day project to make a bench for the community orchard.  It took place during the winter of 2014 -15.  The project involved a core group of six people, with addition support during the ceremonial cleaving of the oak during apple day, and installation which coincided with the annual wassail.

Completed in May 2014.  The building of two benches to commemorate the loss of life of the Bedford boys who were stationed at MacAndrews Field in Ivybridge, prior to the D-Day landings.  The project was completed by many students and volunteers on other community projects that I have worked with over the years.   Approximately 1200 volunteer hourse went in to making these benches.
