A hand textured seat is less slippery than a conventionally sanded and polished finish. The backrest and arms are split from a straight and knot-free piece of english sycamore. This is carefully shaped and smoothed using traditional tools such as the draw-knife and spokeshave. The part-finished component is then steamed for over an hour, making it pliable. It is then bent and twisted in one quick operation. The bent and twisted arms catch the light beautifully, adding a strong sculptural presence to this chair. The arm rests are the perfect height and angle for relaxing in. . Calm, comfortable seating.
