All courses take place in my beautiful workshop near the South Hams coast, and are taught in a calm, supportive environment. They are designed to be hands-on and accessible, with plenty of individual guidance, whether the participant is completely new to making or already confident working with tools.
Vouchers can be used across the full range of Peter Lanyon Furniture courses, whether it is our award-winning 2-Day Introduction to Green Wood Furniture Making, a one-day Tool Sharpening Masterclass, or our month-long Green Wood Intensive. One course I’m particularly proud to offer is the Children’s Lamp Making Course. This is a rare opportunity for young people to design and build their own wooden lamp from start to finish.
The course encourages creativity, confidence, and practical skills, while introducing children to sharp tools and quality materials in a safe and encouraging setting. At the end of the day, each child leaves with a finished lamp — something useful, personal, and made entirely by their own hands.
